Premarin2
The original painting is from the VR game The American Dream, made by my friend Nicholas McDonnell and his company Samurai Punk. It's a satire of gun culture, in which you do EVERYTHING with guns. Work at a bagel factory with guns, flip burgers with guns, go to a dance... With guns.
As reviewer David Jagneaux put it, "You remember the classic kid comment of, “Well if you like ___ so much, why don’t you marry it?!” This is that, turned into a game, focused on guns."
Nick himself finds guns and gun culture in America and the failing to ban it scary. Hence the game's turning it up to eleven.
And yet here it is, taken at face value as a love of guns by a far right social network and used as propaganda without actually seeing the commentary its making.
The Premarin Pop Cultural Phenomenon (Premarin Effect for short) in action.
